Kaiser Electric Completes Pershing Hall Renovations at University of Missouri

Kaiser Electric crews have completed extensive renovations to the two-story Pershing Hall on the University of Missouri (MU) campus in Columbia, MO. The commons building is located just south of Defoe-Graham Residence Hall on Hitt Street. The project is part of the university's Residential Life Master Plan, a five-phase plan designated to replace or renovate all residence halls on the MU campus.

Kaiser crews began working on the Pershing Hall renovations in January 2012 and completed the project in February 2013. The building houses the Mizzou Market (which reopened in August 2012), offices for Residential Life's Residential Academic Programs (RAP) and various study, computer and meeting spaces for students.

The renovation project included:

·         Removal and replacement of the existing roof

·         Installation of energy efficient windows and exterior entry doors

·         Installation of an elevator to comply with ADA requirements

·         Upgrades to the HVAC system

·         New entrances on the north and south sides of the building

·         Reorientation of the loading dock with new roll-up door and canopy

The general contractor on the project was Sircal Contracting of Jefferson City, MO.

Across campus, Kaiser Electric crews are continuing renovation work to the 47-year-old, seven-story Mark Twain residence hall and dining facility. Kaiser Electric is providing new electrical wiring, lighting, branch circuiting, data and communication service, and fire alarm wiring on the project, which is expected to be completed in August.
