I have decided to change my blog to more of an image of the day theme. Instead of coming up with a theme for a group of photos, I’ll concentrate more on the single image. This way I can can talk more about the equipment used, the settings, the software used, subject matter, inspiration etc.
Today I’ll focus on a shot that I took two years ago an a similar spring rainy day coming back from Nashville. I love shooting out of a car while my girlfriend Sharon is driving. I tell her where to position the car and she gets me there. On this particular shot we caught up with the fuel truck ahead and I shot this through the windshield just in time to catch a good frame of the truck with the bridges in the background.
Compositionally, I love the way the bridges, highway and truck are all repeating curves.

I love the dreary, rainy mood and the feel of motion you get from the spray from the truck.
This was shot wit a Canon 50D, Canon EF 70-200mm telefoto lens, at 1/125 sec, f/7.1.
