The Surreal Beauty of flooding
The high waters of the Meramec crested last Thursday creating beautiful surreal scenes.
After a year of severe drought many of us are welcoming this wet spring and swelling of the rivers. Last week the Meramec came out of its banks an and crested on Thursday.
I have always been fascinated with some of the beautiful surreal scenes that flooding causes. I was lucky enough to drive the River Road Thursday evening and catch some nice shots. I came back the next morning to shoot in the morning light, and the river dropped at least 5 feet and was back within its banks.
The first group of photos were shot from Minnie Ha Ha Park Wednesday afternoon, and the rest were shot from various points on the River Road Thursday evening.
