Daily Dose: School Election Forum, Half Price Books and the National Anthem

The Candidates Talk: Rockwood Stakeholders for Real Solutions is hosting three  candidate forums in various locations around the district to give ample opportunities for residents to hear from them before the Apr. 4 elections. One of the forums is at 10 a.m. today at the Point at Ballwin Commons, 1 Ballwin Commons, Ballwin.

Half Price Books:  The Northwest Branch of the Jefferson County Library, 5680 Hwy PP, High Ridge, has all of the used books in its store available for half price today.

Movie Making: It was a momentous occasion on this date in 1915 when the film Birth of a Nation Nation premiered in New York City. The movie starred Lillian Gish, Mae Marsh and Wallace Reid and has frequently been called the greatest silent film ever made.

Birth of an Anthem: March 3, 1931 marked the day that The Star Spangled Banner became the national anthem of the United States. It's been sung by thousands of people prior to sporting events and other public gatherings, despite the fact that it is ranked as one of the most difficult anthems to sing.

Weatherwise: The unusually near spring-like weather will continue today with a high of 46 degrees expected, although it will be breezy. The clouds will roll in tonight and the temp is expected to drop to a low of 31.
