
Jefferson College Choral Concert May 5 “A Musicale of Musicals!”
The Jefferson College Music Department will present its final choral concert of the year, “A Musicale of Musicals,” on Sunday, May 5, at 3 p.m. in the Fine Arts Theatre on the Hillsboro campus.

The concert will include performances by the Jefferson College Chamber Choir, Community Chorale, Chamber Singers, and several ensembles, all directed by Virginia McGuigan. A variety of selections will be presented from such well-known musicals as “Fiddler on the Roof,” “The King and I,” “Bye, Bye Birdie,” “Pitch Perfect,” “Les Miserables,” and “The Sound of Music.” In addition, the Fine Arts Theatre stage will be decorated and the musical presentation will be highlighted by a PowerPoint presentation of photographs as the choirs perform.

The family-friendly performance is suitable for all ages and is one of several arts/entertainment activities being held in connection with Jefferson College’s 50th anniversary celebration. Admission is free.
“This will be a really fun concert,” said McGuigan. “It is not serious at all and will be great for families. Besides the many popular show tunes that will be performed, there will be pictures shown throughout the entire concert, which will make a great visual as well.”
