Jefferson County Libraries offer Food for Fines Amnesty

Jefferson County Library continues its "Food for Fines" amnesty program, offered once a month during 2011. Customers with outstanding fines for overdue materials may have their fines erases with a donation of canned food items. The library will forgive up to one dollar for each canned food donation.

There is no limit on the number of items that may be cleared, however items borrowed from libraries outside Jefferson County and lost or damaged library items are not eligible for this program.

The library will not accept home-canned items, cans that are past their expiration dates or are dented or damaged, or cans with bar codes that have been lined or scratched through.
