If any of you out there boat on the Meramec River you may have seen these boats. They sit on the south bank of the Meramec where it meets the Mississippi River. They have been there for years and I’ve photographed them many times. A few years ago a group of us actually had an afternoon picnic on one of the barges while we watched barges on the Mississippi pass by. I’ve always been fascinated by them, but don’t know anything about them. If any of you out there have a story about them, who they belong to, why they are there, please share it. These shots were taken last Sunday during the Memorial Weekend Holiday. Photographed with a Canon 5D Mark III, Canon EF24-70mm f/2.8L USM lens. Camera settings for the boat: 1/640 sec at f/4.0 ISO 100 70mm Camera settings for the barges: 1/125 sec at f4.0 ISO 100 42mm Both images were edited in Photoshop CS6, NIK Color EFEX PRO, and Alien Skin Exposure. ‘Til we meet again f e r d
