High Ridge Elementary Students Receive Special U.S. Flag
The class sent care packages to the troops last December.
When the first grade classes at High Ridge Elementary School created care packages for soldiers last December, they didn't realize it would be followed this spring by a flag ceremony.
Jim Napoli, commander of VFW Post 6516 paid the postage for the packages, which went to military bases in Europe and Korea. Misty Williamsonβs first grade class package also found their way to Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan. These care packages were greatly appreciated and Major Frank Campana, in Afghanistan expressed his appreciation by sending home a U.S. flag was flown in Afghanistan in Williamsonβs honor.
The students receive special certificates at the flag ceremony. High Ridge Elementary School parent and VFW Post 6516 member Rich Hogan made the presentation.
