Lindbergh Builders Club Actively Promotes Charity and Builds Camaraderie

The Lindbergh Schools Builders Club has been busy this fall giving back to the community and building camaraderie.

Members of the Builders Club shared recent projects and activities with their parent organization, the Crestwood-Sunset Hills Kiwanis Club, on Nov. 15. During the meeting, the Kiwanians  donated all of the proceeds from the two clubs’ joint “Peanut Days” project in October to fund Builders Club projects and activities in 2012-13. In all, the Kiwanis Club presented the Builders Club with $830.

In October, students from the clubs at Sperreng and Truman middle schools went together to a local neighborhood and collected 105 canned food items for Feed My People.

A few days later, they participated in a team-building retreat at Camp Wyman in Eureka. The 12 Builders Club members who attended learned to work more effectively as a club and discover the different strengths each participant brings to the group.

“Students participated in a variety of low ropes course adventures, as well as activities that highlighted how each one of us individually can make a difference in bettering our club, school and community,” said Truman club sponsor Lisa Marin.
