My Disappointment with Members of the Republican Party

I have to ask, why do so many people feel it is their responsibility to run against their fellow Republicans in local races in Jefferson County?  Don't they realize that to do so means more money will be spent in a Primary? Can't you find another race that needs a Republican candidate or is it being encouraged by the people that have set themselves up as the Republican leadership in Jefferson County? During every election, Republicans run against each other and the Democrats sit back and watch the silliness holding on to their war chests of union provided money. What is wrong with this picture?  

It hurts us all when one candidate runs against another candidate that is Conservative, works hard for his community and has proven his ability to move the County forward with good policies and tenacious perseverance.  Those of you that announce that you are running against another Republican candidate that has already announced should be ashamed of yourselves and I for one will do what it takes to help you loose.  You should be joining forces with the candidate that has already announced and help them beat the Democrats, you should support them and encourage them, not insult them.  

I find it interesting that these candidates that run against others are not involved in anything.  I never see them at Council meetings, out walking the neighborhoods during a campaign, attending numerous Board meetings, highway meetings or any other important event.  They just pop up when they see another Republican has announced to run.  They spend a lot of money (I remember one of those candidates spent somewhere around $20,000) and get butchered when the votes come in.  They look ridiculous and that perception passes along to the party.  It is quite sad and tears down everything we've tried to accomplish.  Wake up, be an adult and stop giving the Dems what they want.
