Neighbors Credit Union Gives Away Money at New Site Preview

The credit union donated $500 to a group that provides support for special needs kids. A public grand opening is set for Saturday.

was giving away money Wednesday as it had a ceremonial ribbon-cutting to preview it's new location on 612 Gravois Road in Olde Towne Fenton.

John Servos, president and CEO of Neighbors C.U. wielded the big scissors and, with the help of Fenton Mayor Dennis Hancock, who wielded a smaller scissors, sliced through a ribbon that was embedded with $10 bills.

The $500 attached to the ribbon will be donated to Team Activities for Special Kids (TASK) a non-profit group that provides sport and social opportunities for kids with special needs in the St. Louis area.

The special preview, attended by Neighbors C.U. staff and members of the Fenton Area Chamber of Commerce, was an early look at the credit union's new facility. There will be an official grand opening for the public from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.Β  Activities will include giveaways, drawings, a live radio remote with 93.7 the Bull (from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) and refreshments. Special rate offers and promotions also will be available.

The Fenton office is the seventh location in the St. Louis area for Neighbors Credit Union and is part of the 40 St. Louis credit union shared branch offices, 4,100 national shared branch offices and more than 25,000 CO-OP nationally surcharge free ATMs. The new office features drive-up facilities, a drive-up ATM, night drop, a free coin counter service for members, a teller line with four stations and a member service area.

Neighbors Credit Union is a community based credit union. People residing or working in the Fenton area are eligible to join the credit union.

In a news release, the company gave kudos to the for enbling it to seek larger quarters.

"As a result of the growth of Fenton, Neighbors Credit Union was motivated to build a bigger facility in Fenton. This new location will improve the credit union’s ability to serve the increasing number of members in the area," according to the news release.
