Northwest Bus Drivers Bring Home Trophies
Four drivers win awards in 2012 school bus safety program.

First Student bus drivers from recently captured awards at the 2012 Missouri school bus safety competitionΒ June 21-22 in Osage Beach, MO. In all, 65 school bus drivers from across the state participated in the annual event which included a written test, a pre-trip inspection test, and a 10-event precision driving course.
The Missouri Association of Pupil Transportation presented Northwest drivers with five trophies. Drew Heberlie won first place individual overall and Dean Brueggemann took second place individual overall. Mike (Stewie) Brew won first place rookie overall and Bob Landers won fourth place rookie. Dean Brueggemann, Drew Heberlie, and Mike B. Brew took home the first place team trophy.
Heberlie advances to the international competition in Milwaukee July 14-15. According to the National School Transportation Association website, βEach year, NSTA hosts the School Bus Driver International Safety Competition. This is one of the most important events in the industry, with the best school bus drivers from the U.S. and Canada competing for top honors and recognition.β
