Northwest HS Golfers Advance to Sectionals
It's the first time Northwest golfers have advanced to sectionals.
The golf team has qualified three golfers to compete in the state sectional tournament to be at Crown Pointe Golf Club in Farmington, MO. Sophomore Nick Schmitt shot an 84, along with Juniors Michael Guthrie and Nick Mayer, who both shot 85, to advance from the Class 4, District 1 district tournament, played Apr. 24 at Aberdeen Golf Course in Eureka.
The sectional round was added in 2010 as a selection round prior to the state tournament. It is the first time Northwest golfers have qualified for sectionals.
