Northwest Sets Auction of Surplus Goods for Oct. 8

Outdated and obsolete items will go to the highest bidder as the district sheds books, equipment it no longer can use.

Finding treasure in the trash is a goal ofΒ  those who make garage sale visits a part of their weekly activities.The Northwest School District is offering a similar experience for bargain hunters at its "surplus items" auctionΒ  Oct. 8 at the new Northwest Early Childhood Ecucation Center 6180 Highway MM, House Springs. The district will try to move its old and outdated items to the highest bidders. There will be many old textbooks available at the auction, as well as classroom furniture items and other outdated euipment. The list is eclectic and the district doesn't pull any punches in its descriptions of the goods that will be available. Here's a very brief sample of the the thousands of surplus items that will be available:

  • Piano (very old);
  • Teacher's desk (broken)
  • 6th Grade level readers (quantity: 17)
  • Webster Collegiate Dictionary
  • 1998 Ford E250 van
  • bulletin board 50 x 50
  • Amana 1st edition stove
  • purple desk
  • black desk
  • blue cart w/wheels
  • desk chair
  • rectangle tables
