Olde Towne Fenton Chapter, NSDAR Celebrates the Constitution
Display on the U. S. Constitution exhibited at the Tesson Ferry Branch of the St. Louis County Library during the entire month of September

“We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect Union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.” These words, written 227 years ago, are the Preamble to our Constitution. Constitution Week is September 17 – 23, celebrating the signing of this important document. The Olde Towne Fenton Chapter DAR encourages you to read beyond the Preamble to understand the structure of our government and our freedoms guaranteed by the Bill of Rights.
Nora Zimmer, Constitution Week Chairman says, “Our chapter is proud to celebrate Constitution Week by displaying a U.S. Constitution exhibit at the Tesson Ferry Branch of the St. Louis County Library during the entire month of September. We will also be distributing bookmarks and Constitution Week posters to the schools in the area. The United States Constitution has endured longer than any other constitution in the world and has been used by many other countries as a model for drafting their own constitutions.
