The Big Ride: Out of Idaho - Into Montana

The tour across America is less than a week old and the bikers are in their third state already.

Now in Montana . . . Life is pretty good for the American Lung Association riders. Though one rider had to drop out because of a bike crash, and pending hand surgery, the rest of the team soldiers on.

Larissa Powers, the MICDS science teacher, has overcome her knee injury and is right in the middle of the pack. Yesterday afternoon, the riders said goodbye to Idaho and hello to Thompson Falls, Montana.

Tuesday will be a full respite and a celebration of sorts. The Montana American Lung Association will welcome the riders at the Big Dipper ice cream store in downtown Missoula. Otherwise, the riders take the day off to rest up, re-sort the gear then head onto Avon, MT, a short 61 miles from Missoula.
