Rockwood, Lindbergh Students Receive Special Awards, Scholarships

The Special Education Foundation, along with the Special School District (SSD), will recognize and honor 39 SSD students at the annual Commitment to Kids Banquet Thursday. 

Students will be honored for their achievements in academics as well as their accomplishments in vocational training, community service, arts, independent living skills and communication skills.  

Twenty-three students will receive the Rosemary Zander Award—the highest honor awarded to SSD students. The Zander Award program recognizes students for their extraordinary successes. 

Also being recognized at the banquet will be the winners of numerous scholarships and camperships awarded by local organizations, including the Special Education Foundation and the Bonhomme Lions.
