At SSM Health, we are closely monitoring all developments on COVID-19 vaccines and booster doses. Recently, Pfizer and BioNTech requested approval for emergency use of its COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5 and older.

A vaccine for that age group is expected to be approved soon by the FDA. Currently, only children 12 and older are authorized to receive the Pfizer vaccine.

While parents wait for vaccine eligibility for younger kids, they are urged to visit our website to become authorized to schedule COVID-19 vaccine appointments for their children.

Once that step is complete, SSM Health will contact them as soon as a vaccine is approved for kids 5 and older. And, once parents are contacted, they will be able to schedule an appointment to get their child vaccinated.

SSM Health anticipates that the vaccines will be administered in a variety of health care settings.

So, please, visit ssmhealth.com/FamilyAccess to get the process started and avoid delays when the vaccine is approved.
