At SSM Health, we strive to provide an exceptional experience for our patients. That’s why, when patient surveys told us our billing process was too complex, we worked hard to make improvements. While there are additional improvements to come, below is a list of those changes we believe directly address key concerns voiced by our patients. We appreciate the feedback and want all our patients to know we are continually improving to better serve them.

  • For starters, we’ve given our billing statements a new, simplified design, making them easier to understand. We’re also working on a change to take effect in 2022 that will combine charges for hospital and physician services into a single bill.
  • We’ve also expanded our efforts to help patients obtain insurance coverage, Medicaid and other resources they may need. That includes financial assistance – we are committed to helping the families in our communities receive quality care that is timely and affordable.
  • We’re working to help you match the billing method that works best for you – paperless or paper. Just let us know.
  • We’ve also added the online features that many busy families have embraced: MyChart access for all your test results, prescriptions and physician notes, and electronic check-in prior to appointments to make the most of your valuable time. To learn more, go to MyChart.
