Thefts, Damage Reported in Vacant Buildings

The following information was provided by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department.

Morgan Ridge Drive, High Ridge

Someone broke into a home under construction on Morgan Ridge Drive, High Ridge, and stole copper tubing, damaged the front door and caused extensive water damage to the basement. 

The value of the missing property and the amount of damage to the basement was set at $1,300.

The burglars forced their way into the home through the front door, damaging it in the process.

A canvass of the neighborhood by deputies produced no leads.

Timber Hollow Drive, High Ridge

Two vending machines with a total value of $10,000 were stolen between Aug. 25 and Sept. 9 from a home that was in foreclosure on Timber Hollow Drive, High Ridge. The homeowner said he still had belongings at the home even though it was in the process of being foreclosed on. There were no signs of forced entry on the home and a canvass of the neighborhood by deputies produced no leads 

Starlite Drive, High Ridge

A woman who lives on Starlite Drive, in High Ridge reported that she had sent her federal tax return to the IRS in March and had never received any information back. After inquiring with the IRS, the woman discovered that someone had fraudulently used her deceased husband's information to file a tax return from Florida. The IRS did not provide any other information about the return, nor did it provide deputies with any leads in the case.
