On Thursday, August 1, 2013 my engine locked up after my “Oil Drain Plug” wiggled off my vehicle in the early morning after my son and I was returning from swim practice, which caused the vehicle to lose all the oil while we were driving on the highway (if an engine lock while driving it can become a serious fatality in morning or evening rush hour traffic or just normal traffic).
I had gotten an oil change from this business and the oil technician that did the oil change was the Manager (W.W.) on July 8, 2013. The vehicle had gone 1097 miles before the oil drain plug wiggle lose. The mechanic shop that I had my vehicle towed to; highly recommended me to go back to the instant oil change business and they explained the mechanical reasons why. I have been through hell and back dealing with the owner of oil change plus apparently the manager is her favorite and had caused another engine to lock up for an “Oil Filter” one year ago, which again she denied, delayed, and confused the customer based upon this manager’s negligence. The owner stated that the oil tech/manager is ASE certified (which is not true, no certificate in business with his certification, the oil tech certificate is there).
Yes, they will give you an oil change but the up services is what they focus to sell i.e. cleaning fuel injectors, transmission fluid services, air filter, radiator flush and tire rotation for revenue generation and employee bonuses especially if your vehicle is over 100,000 not knowing if you have already had those things serviced prior to entering the instant oil change business. The owner stated to BBB that my vehicle was severely damaged because I refuse the additional up services. There are no other notations on the receipt to indicate my vehicle was severely damaged, nothing but recommended nonsense services that I declined to buy into from an instant oil change business and without getting a recommendation from a reliable and trusted mechanic shop. Also, the owner/saleswoman stated to the BBB that if the drain plug was loose it should have come off immediately and not three weeks later or at the miles stated above. Of course, we have spoken to many mechanics and they will tell you that it can take a while (this is my short version). In closing, I just want any customer who comes in contact with the manager and have problems with their vehicle after he has service it, whether it’s a simple oil change, simple transmission fluid change, simple cleaning fuel injectors, tire rotation and any other simple fluid change service; which you are not along. Also, apparently he doesn’t like to clean up the excess oil off vehicles after replacing the Oil filter, because your old oil filter has oil in there when being replaced and comes out when being replaced, so he types in their shop word on invoices (Frame Oil). It appears that this particular oil technician is far from being mechanical inclined and just plain lazy while damaging customer vehicles (denial and lying is the game for the sake of a bonus – BEWARE). While trying to flirt with me, he also was a little upset based upon the fact that I decline his so called recommended up services for their business revenue generation and his bonus. DECEIPTIVE AND NON TRUSTWORTHLY BEWARE – this was my first and last time, I was out running errands that day and seen a special for $19.99 and no customers waiting, total cost for the oil change $28.XX but SAD this is costing me thousands for a special I should have passed up; allowing this inept oil tech. to touch my only vehicle for a SIMPLE OIL CHANGE!
