
Marion R. Casey, clinical assistant professor of history at the Glucksman Ireland House at New York University, will discuss “Performing Ireland, Becoming American” in 331 Social Sciences & Business Building at the University of Missouri, St. Louis.
Casey is the curator of a current exhibition on the subject for Culture Ireland at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts. The exhibit explores aspects of Irish American performance history and the mass appeal of Irish arts in the United States, UMSL's website states.
The event is sponsored by the Smurfit-Stone Endowed Professorship in Irish Studies at UMSL and International Studies and Programs at UMSL.
A parking permit is required for the event.
