Five Things to Expect in 2012

Although 2011 proved to be quite an adventure for Florissant in new business, state championships and several elections, 2012 looks to keep us just as busy.

We’re counting five things that you can continue to look forward to in the new year.

• Depending on the vote of , the vacant could be redeveloped into a new retail area for the city. If so, it’s scheduled to open just in time for the 2012 holiday season.
• There were a number of local elections happening in Florissant last year, and there’s a couple more coming our way. This year, , decide on their representative for the county council seat and vote on city councilors. Not to mention, there’ll be that presidential election happening.
• Everyone enjoys the , and 2012 will be ringing in the golden anniversary of the festival. We’ll be following all of the preparations leading up to the festivities.
• As mentioned previously, 2011 was a big year for new businesses and developments. We’re excited to see what else opens and sprouts up.
• All of the ebbs and flows. Florissant as well as St. Louis has a number of changes and news events to come up that we can’t plan for, but we’ll be there to cover them all.
