Florissant City Council Enters Its Final Meeting of 2011

A public hearing, a resolution and a second reading on a bill are some of the items the council will discuss Monday night.

The Florissant City Council has a number of items for review in its final meeting of 2011.

The council will have a public hearing regarding where the , a resolution in response to Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District’s proposal to raise rates by double digits in upcoming years, and the second reading of a bill for the placement of a new AT&T pole in Ward 7.

At the Nov. 22 planning and zoning meeting, the commission unanimously approved to turn the vacated Value City Department store building on Lindbergh Boulevard into five stores as well as an out-lot building.

In addition, the council will vote whether to pass a resolution, which supports the St. Louis County Municipal League, to postpone a consent decree that would raise MSD rates by double digits and work with municipalities for more reasonable rate increases.

During the Nov. 28 meeting, the council voted to cancel its Dec. 26 meeting in light of the holidays.
