Florissant City Council Makes Headway on Charter Review
Council makes a number of recommendations to the city's charter and gets an update on the budget in the latest work session.

The Florissant City Council has gotten to work on reviewing and revising the Florissant City Charter for the first time in almost three decades.
Council President Keith English told Patch Thursday that “99 percent of the session” revolved around the charter, and that it was a smooth process.
English said the council submitted and discussed approximately 16 possible recommendations for the charter.

English at that time vowed that the council would comb through the charter and review it in the next year, which he’s succeeded in doing.
He said the next step would be to hold public hearings where residents would get a chance to chime in on charter changes, too.
If the council passes a number of charter changes, residents would see the proposed changes on the ballot next April.
Budget Checkup
The council received a short budget update on the progress for this quarter, but they had a number of questions for the city’s finance director.
Randy McDaniel could not attend the session due to personal conflicts, but Mayor Tom Schneider said that he would talk to McDaniel about the council’s questions and get something to them.
