Florissant High Schools Prepare for the Homecoming Spirit

Check out the upcoming activities for the high schools' homecoming weekends.

Fall is officially in the air as each of the Florissant area high schools prepare to celebrate their annual homecoming. Each school has a fast-approaching date and will have a number of activities for students as well as the community to enjoy.

McCluer High Schol Homecoming

Saturday, Sept. 29

McCluer will celebrate its 50th anniversary and holding homecoming events in the same weekend. The 5K Run/Walk takes place at 8 a.m. and go until 9:45 a.m. According to the Facebook event page, the race begins and ends at the M-5 circle entrance entering from New Florissant Rd. The entry fee is $15, which also includes a T-shirt and football game ticket for the first 100 registrants. For more information, email kceleste@fergflor.org.

The parade will immediately follow the race at 10 a.m., and the homecoming football game kicks off at 1 p.m. against Ritenour. There will also be a dance at 7 p.m. 

Hazelwood Central High School

Saturday, Oct. 6

The parade begins at 8:30 a.m. The parade route begins at Patterson and Humes, travels to Patterson and turns left on New Halls Ferry to go to the High School.

The Hazelwood Central Hawks will play the Hazelwood East Spartans at 1 p.m. in football. Students will be able to enjoy a dance at 7 p.m. at the school.

McCluer North Homecoming

Saturday, Oct. 6

Leading up to its homecoming weekend, McCluer North will have spirit week Oct. 1-5, including different days, such as Class Color Day, Celebrity Day and School Spirit Day.  The homecoming parade will take place at 9:30 a.m., followed by the football game at 1 p.m. against Riverview. There will be a dance, with the theme of Arabian Nights, at 7 p.m. at the school.
