Florissant Man's Court Date Continued

Zach Cook has a new court date of June 28 after a requested continuance.

will be back in court on June 28 after his attorney asked for a continuance this past week.

Cook was expected in St. Louis County criminal court on Monday for charges of felony child abuse. The St. Louis County Prosecutor’s office charged the Florissant man early last month.

Florissant police sought a murder warrant for Cook following the child’s death, but no warrants had been issued at time of publication.

On May 5, police responded to a report of an injury to a child in the 2400 block of Blue Heron in Florissant. The child suffered a head injury and was taken to St. Louis Children’s Hospital, where he died from his injuries on May 8.

The police investigation reveals that the child sustained the injuries after being shaken.
