“The vitality of the Ferguson Florissant School District is essential to the progress of not only the City of Florissant but of our important area of St. Louis County. Support for public education is a cornerstone of every successful community. Our citizens have consistently taken responsibility for the welfare of our children and given our schools the resources they need to prepare the good citizens of tomorrow. I support and ask the voters in Florissant and the other jurisdictions in the Ferguson Florissant School District to demonstrate their commitment to our children by supporting Proposition S on August 5.”

“My family moved our Chevrolet dealership to Florissant in 1960. We have never regretted investing our future in the middle of the great communities of Florissant and Ferguson. Education has always been important to my family. My dad understood early on that investing in the education of our children was the key to a successful and prosperous future. For the past 51 years, Johnny Londoff Chevrolet has been supporting the education of local high school seniors with scholarships to the college of their choice. I, like my late father, understand that a strong school system is vital to the economic success of any community. I support the passage of Ferguson-Florissant Proposition S on August 5.”

The Ferguson- Florissant School District Board of Education has approved seeking an operating tax levy increase during the upcoming August 5 election. Voters will be asked to approve Proposition S, an overall tax rate ceiling increase of $0.50 per $100 of property’s assessed value.
The District is seeking the increase in order to maintain and project current instructional programs and staffing which would otherwise be negatively impacted by a projected $7 million deficit caused by reduction in state funding and other factors beyond the control of the school district.
If the requested levy does not pass there would be a significant impact on the District’s ability to provide essential programs and services.
The correlation between the quality of our schools and the stability of our community is very clear. Proposition S is about ensuring the quality of life for our students and our community.
The Ferguson- Florissant School District will be hosting an informative Town Hall Meeting
