Florissant Officially Becomes "The Valley of Flowers"

Florissant has officially become the . 

During Monday night’s meeting, the passed an ordinance that makes “The Valley of Flowers” as the official motto of Florissant. 

asked the implications of the ordinance and its enforceability, and explained that the ordinance would be enforceable, but the wording change of the substitute bill would not indicate a mandatory punishment if something else would be mentioned as the motto.

The bill unanimously passed the council.

Other ordinances passed include: 

• One that transfers the special use permit of Halls Ferry Inn to a new owner

• One that authorizes the transfer of $14,000 from the general revenue fund to an account to allow for the use of mosquito fogging.
