Florissant Police Captain Investigated After Being Found Passed Out

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported Tuesday that a Florissant police captain was found passed out in his take-home car at Mercy Hospital.

At this time, the have said there’s no recollection of any problems such as this occurring, Sgt. Kevin Boschert said. 

The Post-Dispatch said that Florissant Police Chief William Karabas wouldn’t comment as to whether Capt. Jerome Burke had been under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Currently, Burke has been put on unpaid leave, and the car has been taken back. 

Boschert said that it’s common for bureau commanders to have take-home vehicles. He also said that the matter is a personnel issue and remains under investigation.
