Florissant Residents Appointed to Redistricting Commission
Commission prepares to study ward boundaries of the city to determine changes.

Bowling, who attended the special meeting held by the council, said she looked forward to serving the city.
, who previously sat as Ward 1 councilwoman for Florissant, said she looks forward to helping the commission in an interview on Tuesday morning.

“I look forward to revise the wards so it is an equitably numbered population in each ward,” she said.
Geerling said she has an idea of what’s involved as she sat on the council during its last redistricting phase after the 2000 Census.
The commission comes about as the indicated significant growth in Florissant in the past decade.
Despite the growth, Ward 4 Councilman Keith English said in an earlier interview with Florissant Patch that residents should not much expect much to change in the wards.
“I think wards 7, 8 an 9 may change because of the annexations, but I don’t think we’ll see much change in the other wards,” English said.
Bowling said that the redistricting commission’s first meeting is expected to be held next week.
