Florissant Sewer Lateral Tax Remains at $50

Florissant City Council must pass an ordinance for the tax to be reduced.

The when residents receive their property tax bill next month.

On Friday, City Attorney John Hessel informed City Council President Keith English that an ordinance must be passed to lower the tax to $28. On Wednesday, the council passed an action, 5-4, to lower it.

“If an ordinance is needed, I don’t know if it would be possible to pass,” English said in a previous interview about the sewer later fund.

The sewer lateral program insures homeowners against sewer lateral failures, as the repairs could cost residents thousands of dollars.
