Florissant Woman Crashes After Falling Asleep at the Wheel

A Florissant woman suffered moderate injuries Sunday morning after falling asleep at the wheel.

Janelle Springfield drove southbound Interstate 270 when she fell asleep and veered to the right of the road, according to a Missouri Highway Patrol report. After hitting a guardrail, the car spun out of control and the back of the vehicle hit the guardrail.

Springfield, 21, suffered moderate injuries and was taken to St. Anthony’s Medical Center. She did wear a seatbelt during the accident, according to the report.
