Ten Wrestlers Qualify for State Tournament

Athletes from McCluer North and Hazelwood Central head to Columbia with title hopes.

senior DuShawn Frasier heads a list of 10 area wrestlers to qualify for the state meet slated for Thursday through Saturday at Mizzou Arena in Columbia, MO.    

Frasier, with a 35-0 record, is one of the favorites in the 152-pound class.     Seniors Tyronne Williams (20-6) and Nick Jordan (22-12) and sophomore Joe Shell (24-6) give the Hawks four state qualifiers.    

advanced six wrestlers to state. Junior Curtis Peebles, a 125 pounder, heads the list with a 38-6 mark. Junior Darrell Pampkin (38-10) and senior Fard Harris (36-8) also sport serious titles hopes. Junior Delvin Hutson (19-9), senior Conner Linehan (30-14) and senior Patrick Whitener (34-9) also qualified during the Class 4 District 2 Tournament at McCluer North last weekend.
