The Missouri Coalition for Oral Health Names Shannon Woodcock to its Board of Directors
The Missouri Coalition of Oral Health has named Shannon Woodcock, the executive director of the Delta Dental Health Theatre and resident of North St. Louis County, to its Board of Directors.
Since 2008 Woodcock has served as the Executive Director of St. Louis’s Delta Dental Health Theatre, which provides educational activities for children focused on the importance of dental health and its connection to overall health. She previously served as Development Director at St. Louis University. Woodcock received a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology with an emphasis on early childhood education at the University of Texas at Dallas and a Master of Arts degree in nonprofit management from Washington University in St. Louis. She is a member of Leadership St. Louis, the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and the Screen Actors Guild/American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.

The Missouri Coalition for Oral Health is a non-profit corporation with the mission of improving Missouri’s oral health through sound public policy and public awareness. Its members comprise more than 20 Missouri organizations, including the Missouri Dental Association, UMKC School of Dentistry, the Missouri Dental Hygienists’ Association, ATSU Missouri School of Dentistry and Oral Health, the Missouri Primary Care Association, and dental professionals and advocates throughout the state.

The Coalition recently was awarded the 2014 Health Advocacy Project of the Year by the Missouri Health Advocacy Alliance for the restoration of MO HealthNet Adult Dental Benefits in the budget passed by the Missouri General Assembly. The award was made in recognition of the Coalition’s efforts to “educate, train and inspire consumers and elected officials to increase and promote positive health policy change.”
