To the Citizens of Florissant:

In response to recent postings on social media sites regarding treatment of animals by the City of Florissant's Health Department, we have never used animals as food and/or bait for other animals.  Since I became Director of Health in 1981, it has always been our policy to treat any animal brought to our pound with dignity and respect.

We take a very humane and compassionate approach to the handling of all animals entrusted to our care.  We take exception to any comments or suggestions to the contrary.
