A New Baby Brings Hazelwood Patch a New Interim Editor
As Patch congratulates local editor Candace Jarrett on the birth of her new baby, interim editor Angela Atkinson steps up to the plate.
As you might know, Hazelwood Patch editor Candace Jarrett has been preparing for a pretty exciting eventβthe birth of her new baby.
While sheβd originally planned to stick around until her due date of July 24, her beautiful son had other ideas and came into the world very early Thursday morning.
Iβll be filling in for her while sheβs getting to know her newest baby. My name is , and Iβve been with Patch since 2010. I've written more than 100 articles for Hazelwood Patch, plus hundreds of stories for other St. Louis- area Patch sites.

Iβve even served as interim editor for Hazelwood Patch on a couple of brief occasions, and for several other area sites for longer stints.
Iβve lived in the North County area for more than 13 years. I spent the first three living in Florissant before my family and I moved to the 10 years ago. Β

When my husband Bill and I moved to town, we had just one child. Since then, weβve added two more to the fold.
Our sons, Cameron, almost 15, and Noah, 8, are students since kindergarten. Cameron will be a sophomore in the fall, and Noah will start third grade.Β Our daughter Sophia, 4, attends a private preschool in the area, and sheβll start kindergarten in the district in 2013. Bill is a senior information technology engineer for a Hazelwood bio-medical company.
As a Hazelwood resident, taxpayer, parent and homeowner, I have the same concerns you do about our city and our neighborhoods. While Iβm on duty, I hope to work with all of you to continue to make Hazelwood Patch a strong and useful tool for the community.
Iβm really looking forward to digging in and bringing a fresh perspective to Hazelwood Patch while Candace is away, but donβt worryβshe will return to her post in 14 weeks.
In the meantime, if you have questions, news tips, ideas or just want to have a cup of coffee sometime, please email me at angela.atkinson@patch.com.
