Local and regional Golden Tee fans will have the chance to tee off against top national players April 19-22 when the 2012 Power Events Golden Tee Tour (PEGT Tour) arrives in St. Louis for the Missouri Open. Golden Tee Golf is the most successful coin-operated video game in history.
Participants in the Missouri Open will compete against top players and former champions for cash prizes and the Golden Tee Player of the Year title. Free lessons, as well as tips and coaching from top players, also will be available.
The competition is being held at Redbirds Sports Café and Billiards, 9085 Dunn Road, in Hazelwood with a variety of events, drink specials and promotions taking place all weekend.

The PEGT Tour is presented by Power Events, a St. Louis company that conducts the tournament and supplies the machines to tournament venues and Incredible Technologies, Inc., the Arlington Heights, IL manufacturer of Golden Tee.
“We’re expecting a large field this year for the 4th Annual Missouri Open, and many of the top players are already signed up to compete,” said Steve Sobel, president of Power Events. “This will be a lively event and great opportunity for less experienced players to compete with and learn from the best players.”

Since its inception, the iconic trackball-controlled arcade game has become a ubiquitous part of bar room popular culture. Over the past 20 years, millions have played on over 100,000 units in bars and pubs in more than a dozen countries.
