Hazelwood area Girl Scouts were at the St. Louis Outlet Mall last weekend participating in the Fall Product Program. The Girl Scout Juniors engaged with customers shopped in the mall by speaking with them about the benefits of purchasing Fall Product. This troop in particular said that in addition to learning communication skills, they are learning how to be patient.
βSelling Fall Product helps me with my communication skills and how to be polite to others,β said Shae Frauenhoffer, a Girl Scout Junior. βI want to be a psychiatrist like my mom when I grow up, so what I am learning in Girl Scouts will help me talk to people, understand them and have patience.β
Girl Scouts will continue to sell Fall Product at stores throughout eastern Missouri through December 9. Girls who participate in the Fall Product Program learn five skills necessary for leadership: goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills and business ethics. In addition to those skills, girls will learn E-Business as they are able to sell product online that will ship directly to the customer or gift recipient.
