In an effort to better educate residents about the National Terrorism Advisory System (NTAS), which replaced the color-coded Homeland Security Advisory System the City of Hazelwood has
posted the U.S. Department of Homeland Securityβs new National Terrorism Advisory System Public Guide on
its website.
It's the city's goal to help residents be more vigilant to potential attacks brought on in retaliation to Osama bin Ladenβs death, according to a City of Hazelwood press release.
βWe believe that all Americans share responsibility for our nationβs security," said Hazelwood Police Chief Wolf. "And, since Hazelwood is within close proximity to Lambert St. Louis International Airport and the Gateway Arch, which is our countryβs tallest national monument, it would be a good thing for residents to be aware of the heightened risk of terrorist attack in the United States and what they should do."
