Macaroni Kid - Great FREE Resource for Parents in St. Louis!

9 months ago, the Macaroni Kid St. Louis (www.bridgeton.macaronikid.com) published its first newsletter and website offering articles, recipes, crafts, and a huge weekly list of kid-friendly events and activities. Forty-four newsletters later, it has grown from five subscribers to over 2300 self subscribed families. It has had over 140,000 website views and grows everyday. Under the stewardship of Michelle Spann of Maryland Heights, MO , Macaroni Kid is emerging as one of the go to sources for local families. Actually, the growth of Macaroni Kid newsletters/websites across the country has been staggering. Β There were about 100 locations when she first started, and now there are almost 400 locations.

Spann is ecstatic about the reception she has received from local parents. β€œThe last 9 months have been a whirlwind, and I've never enjoyed a "job" more than I do this one. I feel very lucky to do something I'm incredibly passionate about.” Macaroni Kid newsletters focus on a child-friendly events in your local neighborhood. As a parent of a 7 and 4 year old, Spann understands the importance of keeping kids busy and active. Macaroni Kid covers a wide spectrum of things to do with kids in our area-- classes, shows, events, workshops, crafts, recipes and more. Β They work very hard to provide a resource that saves parents time and keeps families busy. They sometimes list events outside of the geographic area, but the focus is primarily local. Spann explains, β€œBlogs are great, but this is not a blog (web log/diary) about me, it is news media about the community. We only cover events before they happen and leave it up to great local news media to report on events after then are completed.”
