Missouri National Education Association (MNEA) Endorse Gina Walsh for State Senate

Bellefontaine Neighbors, MO β€” The Missouri National Education Association’s Political Action Committee, today voted to endorse the candidacy of Gina Walsh, a Democrat from North St. Louis County, for election to the Missouri State Senate.

The Missouri NEA is an advocate for public schools, public school students and public school employees.Β  The 35,000 members of the Missouri National Education Association are public school teachers, librarians, counselors, coaches, school psychologists and psychiatrists, administrators and faculty in colleges and universities.Β  Proud to include among their membership all categories of education support professionals: bus drivers and custodians, teacher aides and paraprofessionals, nurses, school secretaries and food service workers.

Missouri NEA is affiliated with the 3.2 million member National Education Association.

Β β€œMissouri NEA is proud to endorse Rep. Gina Walsh’s election to the State Senate,” said MNEA President Chris Guinther. β€œRep. Walsh has been a champion for students and educators across the country during her time in the Missouri House.Β  She fights every day for working families and is a tireless advocate for children and public education.”

β€œBy educating and nurturing our children, educators perform one of the most critical tasks in our communities,” said Rep. Walsh. β€œI am honored to receive the endorsement of the Missouri NEA, and I take seriously the privilege to fight on their behalf in the State Senate.”

Guinther continued β€œRep. Walsh has been a great friend of educators.Β  Throughout her service in the Missouri General Assembly, she has put the needs of working people at the top of her priority list.Β  She has the experience and the proven effectiveness when it comes to K-12 public education issues in Missouri.Β  Gina has worked tirelessly on education issues and is a valuable asset in Jefferson City, promoting educational accountability and securing the resources needed to educate the children of North St. Louis County.Β  The members of Missouri NEA are proud to support Rep. Walsh for election in the Democratic primary on Tuesday, August 7th."
