ST. LOUIS COUNTY MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO THREATENING TO BLOW UP AN IRS FACILITY

The United States Attorney’s Office announced April 19 that a St. Louis County man pled guilty to threatening to blow up an IRS facility in South St. Louis.

Aaron Johnson, 20, pled guilty April 19Β  to threatening to blow up an IRS facility, according to the release. Johnson appeared in U.S. District Court April 19 before Judge Stephen N. Limbaugh, Jr.

Johnson admitted to one count of Threatened Use of an Explosive Device, according to the release. Specifically, Johnson admitted to calling the IRS Lockbox facility on South Kingshighway on April 14, 2010 and threatening to β€œblow it up.”

According to the release, the maximum penalty for the Threatened Use of an Explosive Device at a federal facility is 10 years in prison, a fine of $250,000 or both.Β
