UMSL's Mercantile to Host Civil War Series

Missouri’s pivotal role in the Civil War will be explored at 7 p.m. every Thursday in May at the St. Louis Mercantile Library at the University of Missouri–St. Louis.

Discussions will include:

β€’ May 3: β€œThe Civil War in Missouri: An Overview,” a lecture by Louis Gerteis, professor of history at UMSL
β€’ May 10: β€œCivil War Missouri Comes to Life,” featuring Chris Sutton, Civil War re-enactor
β€’ May 17: β€œHuckleberry Finn” book discussion
β€’ May24: β€œEnemy Women” book discussion
β€’ May 31: β€œCelia, A Slave” book discussion

Admission to a single session is $5. A pass to all five sessions is available for $20. Mercantile members can purchase a pass to all five sessions for $15.
