Vote for Your Favorite Everyday Hero in St. Louis

What: Online voting is now open for “Everyday Heroes,” an award that recognizes modern day heroes who make a difference in St. Louis and who touch the lives of others. Everyday Heroes are the teachers, mentors, volunteers, clergy or family members who give of their time and resources in creative ways to affect change—either in the life of an individual, family, school or community.       

Who: Verizon Wireless in partnership with the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis and the 100 Black Men of Metropolitan St. Louis are honoring five Everyday Hero semi-finalists:

  • Torri Anthony – A pastor who has consistently put the needs of his congregation above his own.
  • Koran Bolden – The owner of a recording studio with a “no profanity” rule, he works to help students create music with a positive message.
  • Darlisa Diltz – A healthcare worker who performs random acts of kindness once created a special family holiday celebration for a patient in the hospital.
  • Amy Hunter –A trainer who has worked for more than 10 years to educate, move and change attitudes toward race in St. Louis.
  • JoAnna Vann – A woman who achieved success against the odds who gives back to help young women and entrepreneurs achieve their dreams.

Each semi-finalist will receive a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) and $250. One winner with the overall highest popular vote will be named St. Louis’ Everyday Hero and will receive the 4G LTE tablet and a total cash prize of $500.

Where: Visit www.VerizonInsider.com/EverydayHeroes to vote a maximum of once per day per video.
