Hazelwood West High Juniors Still Have Time Be Valley of Flowers Queen

The Valley of Flowers committee has extended the deadline for the 2013 Valley of Flowers queen candidate entry.

The new deadline is Friday, Feb. 22.  

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Must be 16 years old by April 30
• A junior in high school
• Resident of City of Florissant
• Have a sponsor (Sponsors do not have to be a Florissant business.)

Judging for the queen contest will take place April 7 at the James J. Eagan Center, and the queen, first runner-up and three maids will be announced at the end of the Valley of Flowers parade, May 5. The queen will also receive a $1,000 scholarship.

Last year, Monica Wilson was crowned Valley of Flowers Queen.

The Valley of Flowers runs from May 3-5.
