Local Manufacturing Business Buys Illinois Company

Burner Design and Control, Inc. (BDC), which specializes in process heating and control, recently purchased R.L. Weisheimer & Associates, Inc. BDC is a nearly 70-year-old manufacturer’s representative and distribution company with Missouri offices in Hazelwood and Lee’s Summit in the Kansas City area, as well as service centers in Decatur, Ill. and Springfield, Mo.

Due to the sale, R.L. Weisheimer & Associates’ Columbia, Ill. office location will close but all employees will remain employed with BDC and relocated to the Hazelwood headquarters.

BDC is an industrial combustion, process control and data acquisition provider that offers complete system engineering, integration, and ongoing field support services. R.L. Weisheimer’s specialties included field instrumentation devices for temperature, flow, level, and pressure measurement.

“Our clients will benefit from the complementary nature of our two companies, which is the perfect situation because we’re now able to provide complete process solutions at the lowest possible costs,” said BDC president Charles Roth. “We expect the transition to be pretty seamless as we continue to provide uninterrupted service while integrating the two businesses.”
