Most Common April Fools' Day Hoaxes
This week's Patch Picks is dedicated to April Fools' Day. Though not a legal holiday, it is celebrated in many places throughout the world. Documented as far back as Chaucer's Canterbury Tales, it continues to live on through pranksters.

Happy April Fools' Day! Don't worry. There will be no fake news posted on this site, but in the spirit of day, we'd like to share our list of the most common April Fools' Day pranks.

Oldies but Goodies, Kick Me Signs: Though these have been done hundreds of times, they never seem to get old. Countless people can say they've had a person to covertly tape a βKick Meβ (or similar) sign on their backside.

Office Inspired Prank: If you've ever seen Jimβs antics on the hit show The Office; you've seen some very common office pranks. Especially when he hid his co-worker Dwightβs stapler in a gelatin mold. Many people have done this and then watch as the person stares at their item in disgust.

A Clingy Ordeal: Another prank people pull is to wrap the toilet with clear cling wrap. This is pretty gross, but it still seems that people enjoy and think it is so funny that it's worth the mess.
Annoying Phone Calls: So simple, yet so funny. We've seen how this works. Someone uses a piece of tape and hold the button down on a phone receiver. The phone keeps ringing even though the handset has been picked up and answered.

Wrong Way Pal: Online a big prank is to switch the signs to the restroom. This joke has also been modified by putting a sign on the door that reads βClosed to contamination,β or something similarly disturbing.
Ha- I Foiled Ya!: I tried this prank on my boss this morning. This is another popular prank that includes wrapping up everything in the someoneβs room or office with aluminum foil.Β This can also be modified by using Post-it Notes to cover everything. This prank is worth the time!
Change It Up: A lot of online pranksters like to make people question what they just saw. There are a lot of variations, but the most common is to pass someone in different outfits. At first they will think their mind is playing tricks on them and then they will begin seriously wondering if something is wrong with them. Itβs a huge plus if other people are in on it and are changing clothes as well. This can also be done with changing the locations of items.
Trashy: Another good idea is to hide a treat like chips in a trashcan but place it in a bag so that it never touches the actual trash. Wait for someone to walk by and then start digging through the trash and pulling out the treat to eat. As you are eating it, ask the person why they are disturbed and why they think you shouldnβt eat from the trash.
