Here are some of the latest restaurant inspections that occurred throughout the past 90 days in the City of Hazelwood and nearby in Florissant, Maryland Heights and Creve Coeur.

Amighetti’s Café and Bakery
Address: 209 Village Square Shopping Center, Hazelwood
Date of Inspection: Feb. 11
Type of Inspection: Routine
Risk Factor: 2
Grade: 91-A
Comments: No thermometers found in salad prep coolers; bread not covered at the bottom of prep table; food containers not stored properly; debris found on can opener; no test strips found to measure sanitizer concentration; no backflow prevention found on mop sink faucet.

Worldwide International Foods
Address: 7238 N. Lindbergh, Hazelwood
Date of Inspection: Feb. 28
Type of Inspection: Routine
Risk Factor: 2
Grade: 79-C
Comments: No food safety certification found for person in charge; inspector explained proper hand washing procedures to employee; toilets not clean in women’s restroom; mold growth found on tomatoes and cheese of walk-in cooler, and it was thrown away; raw meat stored next to ready-to-eat foods in walk-in cooler; food products not in original packaged were not labeled; knives stored with food debris and in-between wall and rack ; no water found at mop sink; hole found in men’s restroom; ceiling found to be leaking through entire building.

Pirrone’s Pizzeria

Type of Inspection: Follow-up

Comments: Proof of current vaccinations show to inspector; several items need to be fixed by next routine inspection, such as, caulk at handsinks; soiled hood filters; leaky faucet on sink; and cleaning of floors, walls, etc. on regular basis.

Longhorn Steakhouse
Address: 2317 N. Highway 67, Florissant
Date of Inspection: Feb. 8

Comments: No paper towels found at sink; inspector noticed incomlete Hepatitis A records, but it was corrected; leaky faucet in dish room; no light shield found on bulb in closet; water damage on ceiling of closet found.

Kluckin Chicken

Comments: Dish machine sanitizer cycle registered no chlorine; dish machine has heavy build up of debris on exterior.

Comments: Inspector observed beef stored over baked products; chemical spray bottle didn’t have label on it; no date marking system found for potentially hazardous products; ice scoop not stored properly; cold water doesn’t work at hand sink.
