Support Dogs Receives $84,000 In Grants For 2014
Money raised to benefit agency's unique programs.
Support Dogs, Inc. received $84,000 in grants for 2014 that include:
Assistance Dog program grants from Scottrade ($2,500); Boeing St. Louis - Employees Community Fund ($5,000); Mildred, Herbert, & Julian Simon Foundation ($10,000); Variety the Children's Charity of St. Louis ($14,250), and; The Guth Foundation Charitable Trust ($20,000).
TOUCH program grants from Fischer-Bauer-Knirps Foundation ($1,500), and Herman T. & Phenie R. Pott Foundation ($5,000).

Paws For Reading program grants from St. Louis Blues 14 Fund ($2,173); Walmart Foundation ($2,646); Cardinals Care Foundation ($3,000); Edward Chase Garvey Memorial Foundation ($5,000); Energizer Charitable Trust ($5,000), and; The Saigh Foundation ($5,000).
General grant funding from J. W. & Mildred Kisling Foundation ($500); FHC Foundation ($500); Kienstra Foundation ($1,000), and; The Sidener Foundation ($1,000).

Support Dogs, Inc. is a national non-profit organization that offers dignity, hope and independence by providing highly skilled service dogs to individuals with disabilities and uniquely trained dogs to serve the community. Founded in 1983, the organization provides many services including an Assistance Dog program which matches people with various disabilities with a canine partner, a pet visitation therapy dog program called TOUCH (Therapy of Unique Canine Helpers), and a Paws For Reading program that places dogs in classrooms.
